Catering Assistant (Full-Time)
Rate of pay: $19/hr
Responsibilities:
- Answer the CATZ office phone, assisting prospective clients, logging leads, messages.
- Maintain Asana Calendar for Banquet Room bookings.
- Act as the in-office liaison for Sales Manager who may need assistance from the field.
- Compile and distribute all weekly BEO packets, prepare prints for weekly BEO meeting, ensure most up to date BEOs are posted.
- Manage all CATZ delivery invoices and funding requests.
- Order and inventory linens and event rental equipment.
- Assist with detailing all social and corporate (non-wedding) events <100 guests.
- Schedule and execute in-person and phone meetings with clients to finalize event details.
- Booking all County personnel: Park Ranger, Animal Requests.
- Manage all sales and scheduling of ticketed events: monthly pairing dinners, holiday events.
- Act as client point of contact at some catering events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be able to speak English.
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and excellent computer skills.
- Must possess polished guest service skills.
- Previous Food & Beverage, hospitality, and/or Catering experience a plus.
- Three years of related experience in event industry in a leadership role.
- Experience with Altru, Asana, Caterease a plus.
- Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.
- Ability to work mostly days, with some nights and/or weekends and holidays.

Education Coordinator (Full-Time)
Rate of Pay: $17/hr
Essential Job Functions:
- Will be assigned primary responsibilities (registration, program development, delivery and evaluation) for designated programs, and will be cross trained to assist with delivery for other programs as needed.
- Works with Conservation Education Program Manager to achieve established program goals, including program impact and revenue.
- Supports teammates in delivering assigned programs when needed, providing program plans and materials.
- Works with community partners and clients to ensure success of programming.
- Attends regular staff meetings, including Education Staff, All-Staff, individual meetings with Education and Conservation Manager and Friends of the Zoo meetings.
- May be required to drive personal vehicle to programs when zoo vehicle is not available (mileage reimbursement provided).
Desired Training and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, zoology, biology, environmental science or a related field.
- A minimum of one year’s experience working in an educational capacity in a school, zoo, aquarium, nature center or similar organization.
- Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards and the Common Core Learning Standards.
- Previous experience working with grades K-2 and camp programs preferred.
- Previous knowledge in interactive virtual learning a plus.
- Ability to demonstrate and communicate scientific and conservation messages in a lively, engaging manner to diverse audiences from infants to adults.
- Excellent public speaking, organizational, record keeping and writing skills.
- Ability to be self-directed, flexible, work as a team player, achieve established goals and maintain accurate records.
- Proficient with computer programs, including Microsoft Office.
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
- Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License, reliable transportation and a registered and insured vehicle. Must be able to use personal vehicle for work purposes. NYS DMV Clearance.
