Asian Elephant Extravaganza
SUNDAY, AUGUST 17, 2025 | 10 A.M. - 3 P.M.
This annual event celebrates the Rosamond Gifford Zoo’s Asian elephant herd and the cultural traditions of their native countries in South Asia. Friends of the Zoo and the zoo’s elephant team plan a daylong slate of activities including performances of traditional Indian music and dance, an Indonesian orchestra called a gamelan, demonstrations with our eight-member elephant herd - including our Asian elephant miracle twins, Yaad and Tukada.
This event is free for members and with paid zoo admission.
Yoga with the Elephants:
Join us weekends in August for peaceful morning yoga with a backdrop of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo’s Helga Beck Asian Elephant Preserve to benefit EEHV research.
Yoga with the Elephants takes place most Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays, August 3-31 from 8:30-10 a.m.
